Pride Interfaith Knoxville participates in advocacy efforts that promote the dignity, safety, and rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals. We partner with organizations such as the Tennessee Equality Project for events like Equality Day on the Hill, where our members meet with legislators, share stories, and stand against discriminatory legislation.

Our advocacy is grounded in faith-based values of justice, compassion, and human dignity. We organize press conferences, issue public statements, and work directly with elected officials to protect the rights and dignity of LGBTQIA+ individuals in Tennessee.

Our coalition has spoken out against anti-transgender legislation, anti-drag performance proposals, and all forms of discriminatory policy. We urge an end to political hate speech against LGBTQIA+ communities and their members.

Our Advocacy Focus Areas

What We Stand For

Opposing Discriminatory Legislation

We actively oppose bills that target LGBTQIA+ individuals, including legislation restricting gender-affirming care, bathroom access, and identity documents.

Public Witness & Statements

We issue public statements and hold press conferences to make clear that diverse faith traditions stand in support of LGBTQIA+ dignity and against hate.

Legislative Engagement

Through events like Equality Day on the Hill, our members meet directly with state legislators to advocate for policies that protect all Tennesseans.

Resisting Christian Nationalism

We resist the oppressive tactics, rhetoric, and proposed legislation of Christian nationalism, affirming that no single theology should be enshrined in law.
